Privacy Policy — Score Counter
Effective Date: June 10, 2026
Overview
Score Counter is a score-tracking app for card games, billiards, and casual sports. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.
Data We Do Not Collect
Score Counter does not require an account. All your matches, players, and scores are stored only on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. We never see, store, or transmit:
- Player names you create
- Match scores or game history
- Photos, contacts, location, or other personal content
- Email addresses or other identifying information
Data Collected by Third-Party Services
The app uses these third-party SDKs that may collect anonymous data:
Firebase Analytics (Google)
- What: Anonymous app usage events (for example, “match created”, “settings opened”), device class, OS version, language
- Why: Understand how the app is used to inform future improvements
- Personally identifiable? No
Firebase Crashlytics (Google)
- What: Crash reports including stack traces, app state at crash time, device class, OS version
- Why: Diagnose and fix bugs
- Personally identifiable? No
Firebase Performance (Google)
- What: App launch times, network request durations
- Why: Identify performance issues
- Personally identifiable? No
Google AdMob
- What: Advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you consent via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt), IP address, device class, ad interaction events
- Why: Show ads relevant to you and fund the app’s development
- Personally identifiable? Only if you grant ATT permission. You can revoke this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Apple StoreKit
- What: In-app purchase status (whether you bought “Remove Ads”)
- Why: Apple processes the transaction; we only learn whether the purchase succeeded.
- Personally identifiable? No (Apple handles payment data; we never see card details, full name, or address)
In-App Purchases
Score Counter offers one optional non-consumable purchase: “Remove Ads.” Apple handles payment, refund, and tax processing. Restoring purchases is supported in Settings → Purchases.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
When you first open the app after onboarding, iOS shows a prompt asking whether you allow Score Counter to track you across apps. Choosing “Allow” lets AdMob personalize ads using your advertising identifier. Choosing “Ask App Not to Track” disables personalized ads but does not affect app functionality. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Children’s Privacy
Score Counter is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently received such information, contact us at the email below.
Data Retention
- On-device data (matches, players, scores): retained until you delete the match or uninstall the app
- Analytics data: retained per Firebase Analytics defaults (currently 14 months)
- Ad-related data: managed by Google AdMob’s privacy policy
Your Rights
If you are in a region with data-protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.):
- You can opt out of tracking via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- You can request data deletion by contacting us; we will forward Firebase/AdMob deletion requests to Google
- You can uninstall the app at any time, which removes all on-device data
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Effective Date” above. Continued use of the app after changes implies acceptance.
